12 Oct Whistle And Flute
Whistle And Flute is a cool and laid back cafe located on the ground floor of the Business SA building just on the outskirts of the city on Greenhill Road.
The venue is like a beautiful alfresco with lots of wooden furnishings and lush greenery. It is bright, warm and very inviting giving off a casual and relaxed weekend vibe.
My weak mocha was amazing. The milk was perfectly steamed, had beautiful texture and was so smooth and deliciously creamy. It had the perfect ratio of coffee and chocolate. I was so impressed and every sip was just heavenly. I have to say they have officially taken the title of best coffee I have had in Adelaide.
Blue swimmer crab scrambled eggs served with toast, chilli, crunchy stuff and herbs. The scrambled eggs were spicy with a generous amount of crab meat. The egg curds were so soft and lusciously creamy and the crunchy stuff was a wonderful mixture of bean sprouts, fried shallots and sesame seeds.
Mushroom ragout served with goats curd, chilli kale, eggs and dukkah. The mushrooms were moist and and full of flavour. The eggs were perfectly poached with flowing rich golden egg yolks. The real star of the dish for me was the chilli kale. It was delightfully spicy and addictive and the dukkah just added a wonderful crunch.
Both dishes were unbelievably delicious and well seasoned and I could not fault anything at all.
Whistle And Flute really amazed me and I was absolutely blown away with the incredible food and coffee. This is the kind of place that makes you want to have a long lazy breakfast or lunch and just stay and chill out all day long.
They do take bookings so make sure you phone ahead as it is very busy on Saturday mornings.
