Wah Hing is a Chinese restaurant serving up a variety of traditional Chinese dishes.
The venue is styled in a sleek and modern design with simple wooden furniture, mirrored walls and industrial light fittings. Traditional Chinese art and calligraphy hang along the walls giving off a serene look and feel.
A tall cold glass of beer to accompany my dinner.
Soy sauce and fresh chilli. My choice of condiment over the traditional hoisin sauce as I like the saltiness of the soy sauce and heat of chilli.
Garnish platter. Julienned cucumber, celery and spring onion with hoisin. Easily customised to your own tastebuds.
Mandarin pancakes. The pancakes were wonderfully light, thin and delicate.
Peking duck. The duck was delectably fatty, moist and full of rich meaty flavour while the skin was deliciously thin crispy.
Peking duck pancake.
Fried rice. The fried rice was lightly seasoned and had a generous amount of veggies and meat mixed through. The rice held its shape together well and did not stick or clump together.
Soup. The soup was rich and hearty and had a slight sourness similar in flavour to hot and sour soup.
Wah Hing do quality Chinese dishes that are affordable and full of flavour. Non of the greasy heaviness you associate with Chinese food at all.
