UR Caffe is a cute, funky and cosy little cafe is located just 5 minutes from the Adelaide CBD on Melbourne Street in North Adelaide. The whole place has splashes of red furnishings all over the place as red is considered very lucky and to bring good fortune in asian culture.
I ordered my usual weak mocha and it was lovely. Milk was smooth, creamy and lightly frothed. Coffee and chocolate ratio was really good. I didn’t need to add any sugar and I really liked it. Look at that gorgeous latte art.
My freshly squeezed orange juice was balanced and refreshing. The oranges used were lovely. Not too acidic or overly sweet.
I ordered the avo pom which came with 2 poached eggs, smashed avocado, pomegranate, cherry tomatoes, shaved radish and feta on sourdough. I also got chorizo on the side.
My eggs were perfectly poached and oozed delicious rich golden egg yolk when I cut into them. I love it when places do poached eggs right. The pomegranate gave the dish little bursts of sweetness and I really loved the fresh crunchy texture of the radish. The salty chorizo complimented the creamy avocado nicely. This dish was so simple yet so delicious. It definitely was on another level from other smashed avocados I’ve eaten. So different, so interesting and it just looked so beautiful!
Ur Caffe is seriously a cool cafe that serves amazing food and coffee. The owners are of Thai descent and I love how they put their own little Thai twists on all their menu items. Very interesting and original.
I can’t wait to take my friends here and try out the other menu items. This is definitely going to be a new favourite for me.
