Royal Copenhagen is an ice cream parlour that specialises in ice cream and desserts. They make their own ice cream from scratch and have over 50 flavours.
Royal Copenhagen have been around for over 30 years and have 12 locations all around Australia. Unique to South Australia is that they also function as a cafe and a dessert bar serving a variety of breakfast items and dessert creations.
I had been seeing pictures and videos of their dessert special the chocolate bomb all over social media and it looked absolutely mouth watering. I just had to visit before their monthly special ended.
A and I shared a pot of honeydew tea together. It was really lovely with a subtle sweetness. It also came with a complimentary mini cookie which I thought was a lovely gesture.
Chocolate bomb. A couverture milk chocolate sphere served with brownie chunks, fresh strawberries, their freshly made natural vanilla ice cream and all topped off with home made salted caramel sauce. The brownie chunks were so moist and fudgey. The fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream helped to cut through and balance out the richness of the brownies and the salted caramel sauce added an extra decadence to the whole dessert.
This dessert was literally the bomb. An extravaganza on its own. It was just mesmerising watching the hot salted caramel sauce being poured over the chocolate sphere and seeing it melt to reveal a chocolate brownie surprise in the centre.
Unique to Royal Copenhagen is that they never charge any money for extras. With every ice cream purchase you can have fresh cream, your waffle cone dipped in chocolate and anything you like from their self serve topping bar. The self serve bar has a variety of toppings so the flavour combinations are endless. Talk about generous and putting the customer first.
