Press Food And Wine is a laid back and trendy restaurant serving modern Australian food.

The restaurant has 2 levels. Downstairs the space is relaxed and casual with its communal style dining. Long high bench tables beside wood panelled walls give off a warming aura.

Upstairs the space is flooded with natural light and is a much more intimate setting with its plush private booths and tables.

Unique to their restaurant is they serve a range of offal on their menu from brains, sweetbread, tongue and morcilla for the more daring and adventurous.

Press Food And Wine bread

Complimentary bread. The outer crust was very hard and so crunchy that it was a little difficult to eat.

Press Food And Wine salmon

Salmon with mango mole, salmon roe and coriander. The salmon was sliced beautifully and tasted deliciously fatty, silky and luxurious. The mango mole was light and tangy with a hint of sweetness and the salmon roe were little bursts of fresh sea flavour.

Press Food And Wine kingfish sashimi

Kingfish sashimi with charred cucumber, buttermilk and avocado. The kingfish was very light and delicate in flavour. The avocado and buttermilk provided a tangy creaminess while the cucumber ribbons gave the dish a contrasting crunch.

Press Food And Wine beef tartare

Beef tartare with aioli, cornichons and toast. The beef was soft and buttery but needed more seasoning. The bread was over toasted and made the bread very hard, dry and powdery.

Press Food And Wine crab pappardelle

House made pappardelle with blue swimmer crab, tomato and chilli. The pappardelle was soft with a slight chewy texture. The sauce was wonderfully spicy, tangy with lots of crab meat and clung to the pasta well.

Press Food And Wine fries

Shoestring fries with aioli. The fries were crispy, salty and very addictive.

Press Food And Wine bombe alaska

Banana, peanut brittle and salted caramel bombe alaska. The waitress poured liqueur over it before lighting it up right in front of us. The banana cake was moist and studded with crunchy pieces of peanut brittle. The salted caramel sauce was sweet, thick and rich and complimented the cake perfectly. The meringue was so soft, smooth and creamy. A magnificent dish for the eyes and tastebuds.

Press Food And Wine is a fun place to dine with fantastic food. The communal dining really gives off a boisterous atmosphere which makes the experience so much more enjoyable.
