Mimasu is a contemporary Japanese restaurant inspired by traditional izakayas located on the ground floor of the 28 storey Vue apartment complex on the southern end of the CBD.

The venue is a mixture of slick black walls and neon pink lights giving off a funky, cool and exotic look. The seating is varied with a combination of high and low tables and booths for more private gatherings.

Bento sets served with sashimi, miso soup, rice, green salad and house made pickles.

The slices of sashimi were thick and luxurious while the pickles were a mixture of sweet and tangy.

Karaage fried chicken with kewpie. The chicken had a crackly crisp coating and the flesh was tender and juicy while the squeeze of lemon provided a fresh tanginess.

Angus striploin with horseradish, grilled negi and umeshu glaze. The steak was soft, juicy and cooked medium rare. The horseradish gave a pungent spicy kick to the sinuses while the glaze was delicate and sweet.

Mimasu stock a unique range of exclusive Japanese beer, whiskey and sake adding to the unique dining experience.
