Martini Ristorante is a beautiful and sophisticated Italian restaurant that has been around for many years and loved by locals.
Previously a white table cloth restaurant, Martini Ristorante has undergone a stunning makeover and delivers an incredible new menu to match.
Rich shades of teal cover the walls, various tones of wood create contrast while an extravagant marble bar and tan leather lounges finish off the luxurious refurbishment. The clean crisp table cloths, napkins and generic plates are replaced with splashes of coloured crockery and elements of textured linen, while an assortment of black and white photos pay homage to owner and head chef Larry’s past memories and Martini Ristorante’s significant history.
The Rocca bunker is also stationed at the rear and curtained off for a more opulent and private dining experience from the main dining room floor.
Prosciutto with arugula, vincotto, evo and grana. Deliciously thin slices of salty prosciutto and wilted arugula with a light splashing of extra virgin olive oil make the perfect starter.
Baccala. Salt cod croquettes with arugula pesto and lemon caper aioli. Crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside, these croquettes were absolute golden perfection.
Anatra. House made gnocchi ragu with slow cooked duck, tomato, sage, mushroom and sangiovese. Pillowy soft gnocchi that just melted in the mouth with a rich, full bodied sauce. You could just taste all the love that went in to making this slow cooked ragu.
Gorgonzola. House made gnocchi with Gorgonzola, arugula pesto and pumpkin. Again the gnocchi was extremely light and fluffy while the Gorgonzola balanced out the sweetness of the puréed pumpkin.
Penne assisi. Sugo, chilli, herbs, tomato and grana padana. A simple pasta dish with minimal ingredients that satisfies those pasta cravings without being too heavy.
Pollo. Grilled chicken tenderloins with slow roasted pumpkin, pepitas, smoked eggplant, cherry tomatoes and baked ricotta. The chicken was succulent and tender while the roasted pumpkin and cherry tomatoes were sweet and caramelised. Pepitas provided crunch and ricotta added a creamy element.
Tagliata. Grilled flank steak with rocket, Parmesan, aged balsamic di modena. Thick and juicy slices of steak with fresh peppery rocket, sweet balsamic and finished off with shavings of Parmesan cheese.
Bombaloni. Italian banana donuts with dutch chocolate filling and banana anglaise. Soft and fluffy donuts covered in cinnamon sugar with a chocolate surprise filling, crunchy banana chips and a silky anglaise.
Martini Ristorante mixes traditional Southern Italian cooking and hospitality with modern sophistication. Their hand made pastas are a stand out while Larry is just a joy to converse with. You can see all the love, warmth and care he has put in to making you feel at home. You’ll come in for a feast and leave feeling like a part of his family.
