Juniper is a little modern Australian cafe offering foods with a European twist. The venue is decked out in a semi Scandinavian style with touches of industrialism giving off a very cool and laid back atmosphere.
Having dined at The Little Eastern recently I noticed Juniper 2 shops down. Seeing the lovely simplistic and minimal interior and the delicious menu on offer I had to return and try the place out.
My weak mocha was very strong despite asking for weak but the milk was nicely steamed and had good texture with a creamy layer of froth on top.
Blue swimmer crab burger. Blue swimmer crab folded through scrambled eggs with greens, chilli aioli on a brioche bun and served with a side salad. Wow! What an amazing dish! The scrambled eggs were so soft and creamy and generously full of sweet delicious crab meat. The greens were crispy, the chilli aioli was wonderfully spicy with a lot of kick just the way I like it. The brioche bun was pillowy soft but held the filling perfectly and the side salad was a lovely surprise addition. A beautiful winning combination. Every mouthful was just unbelievably exquisite! Seriously wow is all I can say! I hope they keep this on their menu forever. It was that good I wanted another!
They also had a range of Abbots And Kinney pastries on offer. Any place that stock Abbots And Kinney is a winner in my books. They make the best pastries in Adelaide.
Abbots And Kinney black cherry danish. Beautiful plump black cherries on top of rich buttery puff pastry. The pastry was delightfully crispy and flaky and the cherries were bursting with juiciness.
Juniper is definitely a hidden gem in the eastern suburbs. I was so impressed and absolutely enjoyed my breakfast. I would love to come back and try out their dinner menu. Deliciously amazing high quality food and for those who love their coffee strong and full bodied this place is just perfect.
