08 Nov Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant
Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant is a fine dining restaurant inside Mount Lofty House situated up in the scenic Adelaide Hills. The former summer residence of Arthur Hardy, Mount Lofty House was renowned for hosting lavish parties for the social elite of the 1850’s, fast forward 165 years, it is now home to one of Adelaide’s extravagant dining experiences set against the charming backdrop of the Piccadilly Valley.
The venue has been transformed into a contemporary space whilst retaining the colonial grandeur of the 165-year-old building. Rooms with timber features, flooring and high ceilings, all leading into the sundrenched verandah enclosure, providing diners with arguably the best view you can find in the Adelaide Hills.
Even the restrooms were beautiful and elegant giving every diner serious bathroom envy.
Daikon mascarpone, wagyu and caviar, seasoned nori. These were delightful little appetisers to start the dining experience. The wagyu was light, crisp and deliciously salty.
Kingfish with yuzu and fresh pumpkin juice. The kingfish was fresh and silky and the pumpkin juice was a unique and interesting flavour combination.
Mussels with pine mushroom, celeriac and seaweed broth. The mussels were plump and creamy and the broth complemented the seafood with a delicate sweetness.
House made milk bread with cultured butter. The bread was fluffy and light as a cloud with an amazing butteriness.
Murray cod with shallot and chicken fat emulsion.
Smoked pig jowl, scallop and apple.
Wagyu tenderloin with marble score of 7+ with wasabi. The wagyu was incredibly juicy, tender and grilled to perfection.
Yuzu custard with mandarin sherbet.
Chestnut with mandarin and gooseberry.
Chocolate with cocoa nib milk sorbet. The chocolate was rich, silky and smooth with a bold and full bodied flavor that lingered on the tongue.
Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant is all about quality, with the kitchen team growing and foraging ingredients right there on the Mount Lofty House grounds.
