20 May Froth And Fodder
Froth And Fodder are a laid back funky little cafe located in the western suburbs. I love eating at suburban cafes because there’s not much traffic to deal with and there’s always plenty of free parking available.
My weak mocha was lovely. Good combination of chocolate and coffee and the milk was nicely steamed with a nice light layer of creamy froth.
Layered watermelon and orange juice. Refreshing and pretty just like a sunrise. I thought it was a great way to serve juice and it really stood out to me.
Smashed avocado with grilled haloumi, toasted seeds and rocket on toasted sourdough. I added a poached egg and some chorizo. The egg was nicely poached. Soft and runny just the way I like it. I absolutely loved the toasted seeds, they gave the dish some wonderful spice and really complimented the smashed avocado. I found the haloumi to be a bit dry and chewy and the chorizo was not salty or spicy like I’m normally accustomed to so they were a bit of a let down for me but everything else in the dish was really nice.
They had a glass cabinet full of delicious looking cakes, protein balls and raw food items.
Pistachio and white chocolate muffin. I really wanted something sweet after my meal and I could not resist choosing something from the glass cabinet. At first I was hesitant to order this as I’m not a huge fan of pistachios but I am so glad I did. The muffin had a beautiful crisp golden crust, was light and fluffy on the inside and had this wonderful hint of salt in the mixture which really brought out the flavour of the muffin.
Another great suburban cafe that uses local ingredients and support other local businesses.
