Breakfast and lunch 7 days
Everyone and anyone who is from Adelaide knows CIBO. The Italian espresso bar with the bright red sign is instantly recognisable serving coffee, quick lunches, cakes and gelati.
CIBO Locale is part of the CIBO brand but completely different. Instead of just offering their typical quick lunch items on the go they offer a full breakfast and lunch cafe menu.
My weak mocha unfortunately wasn’t very nice. It wasn’t steamed enough and I found the texture tasted like plain heated milk. A ordered a flat white and said the same thing.
My freshly squeezed orange juice.
I ordered the green eggs and ham. Pesto scrambled eggs with bacon, fried green tomato and chilli jam with fresh spinach and toast. The eggs were a beautiful vibrant green colour from the generous amount of pesto mixed through. The curds were soft, creamy and nicely scrambled. I found my bacon really dry and my toast was also dry and powdery. The fried green tomato was crumbed and crunchy on the outside. I found it really interesting and I quite enjoyed it with the sweet chilli jam on top.
A ordered the baked eggs. Eggs baked in tomato and basil napolitana sauce with mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes and toast. She said she found the sauce very oily because it had way too much cheese in it.
After reading so many positive reviews and seeing so many mouth watering photos I was really looking forward to trying out CIBO Locale.
Unfortunately for me I didn’t enjoy my meal as much as I would’ve liked. I thought maybe it was just me but A didn’t enjoy hers very much either which was really disappointing.
It wasn’t the worst breakfast but it wasn’t great either. Based on this visit it was quite average and I’m sorry to say I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here.
