Brick And Mortar Creative is such a cute and interesting retail space. They showcase local designer wares from beautiful jewellery, toys and homewares, original greeting cards and art prints and even vegan makeup and a range of organic skincare and body products. They also offer a range of artistic and informative workshops and double up as a cafe as well.
My usual weak mocha was lovely. Good balance of chocolate and coffee with nicely steamed milk and creamy froth.
Prosciutto and pickle toastie. Thinly sliced prosciutto with mustard, cheddar cheese, aioli and pickles on thick cut seeded bread. This toastie was so delicious! It was buttered on the outside and toasted till brown and super crispy on the outside just the way I like it. The flavour combination was also amazing.
Soup of the day was sweet potato and sage soup. Creamy sweet potato soup with crispy fried sage leaves, with a mixture of large thick crunchy croutons and small crouton crumbs and a big splash of cream to finish. Delicious and warming, the cream just added a beautiful richness and the crispy sage leaves were so aromatic.
They also offer a variety of superfood and raw food items for the more health conscious, gluten free items for those with food allergies and vegan items for those with dietary requirements as well as their traditional foods.
A great place to browse unique local designer wares or to connect with designers if you would like something custom made. There were so many things on offer.
After having lunch in their cafe and looking at all the cool items on display I also bought tickets to one of their creative workshops which I am really looking forward to attending!
