21 Jan Bedford Noodle Market
The Bedford Noodle Market is a laid back, fun and family friendly market held on the lush green lawns at Peter Lehmann Winery.
Twice cooked pork with palm sugar caramel, lime and Asian slaw. The pork was so soft, tender and juicy while the slaw was beautifully sweet and crunchy.
Grilled spiced chicken with ginger and papaya salad. The chicken was also moist and tender and the papaya salad was light and tangy.
Harvest kitchen roast pork bahn mi with Apex bakery rolls. The bread rolls were crisp and filled with juicy pork pieces and the herbs were fresh and aromatic.
Charcoal barbecued skewers. Barossa chicken with honey, soy and sesame. Keynton pork with ssamjang and Millendella beef with chilli satay. The skewers had a delicious and intense smokey chargrilled flavour and the marinades kept the meat moist and succulent.
BBQ bao bun with barbecue pulled jackfruit, Vietnamese pickle salad, coriander, sriracha and mayonnaise in a fluffy steamed bun. The bad bun was generous in size with a light and fluffy texture. The barbecue jackfruit was flavoursome and so tasty it could have fooled any meat eater. It was my favourite savoury dish of the night.
Organic soba noodles. A combination of edamame, sugar snap peas and soy citrus dressing. The veggies were vibrant and colourful with a fantastic crunch. I would have preferred more dressing to make slurping up my noodles easier.
Salty caramel and balsamic strawberry ice cream. All ingredients are locally sourced for this incredibly smooth, creamy and luscious ice cream. The most amazing ice cream I have ever tasted. You could taste the real ingredients in every mouthful.
The Bedford Noodle Markets are held once a month on a Friday during the warmer months of January, February and March. They feature a variety of Asian style street foods and it is the perfect way to spend a Friday night listening to live music and tasting the full range of wines available.
