The Loose Caboose
The Loose Caboose is a funky, cool, retro hipster cafe located inside the old Bowden railway station. They have restored the heritage building and turned it into one of the most popular suburban cafes.
My weak mocha tasted beautiful and had a good balance of chocolate and coffee. The milk was nicely steamed with a nice layer of creamy froth on top. The loose caboose always make great coffee and are always so consistent.
The walterapplepine. Watermelon, apple and pineapple juice with mint. Delicious and refreshing combination especially with the mint.
I ordered the steak sandwich off their newly updated winter menu. Grain fed scotch fillet steak with smoked cheddar, onion compote, chilli jam, rocket and paprika aioli on toasted sourdough with fries on the side.
Oh my god! This honestly was the best steak sandwich I have ever tasted! The steak was soft and juicy, the onion compote sweet and tangy and the chilli jam and paprika aioli were divine and so full of flavour. Such an amazing flavour combination.
The fries are the best fries in Adelaide! I absolutely love them! They are always crispy and crunchy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside.
The Loose Caboose is seriously my favourite suburban cafe. I always come here when I can’t decide where to go for brunch. They serve food which not only tastes amazing but is always beautifully presented. I also love how they put their own twists on classic dishes.
They also have a self serve water station that has still and sparkling water on tap which you are able to help yourself to. How cool is that? I’ve never heard of any place having sparkling water on tap. Such a lovely thing to have on offer.
They have a seasonal menu which is always changing and they strongly support local producers. They also specialise in coffee and have a take home range of coffee beans available. An amazing cafe that has thought of everything to make your dining experience amazing!
