Sublime Cafe is a vibrant and modern little cafe located in Clarence Park. The place is very bright, warm and inviting with wooden tables and contrasting steel chairs.
My mocha tasted nice and had a good balance of coffee and chocolate but the milk needed to be steamed more as it was lacking in texture a little bit.
Pineapple, coconut water and mint juice. Light and refreshing juice combination. At Sublime Cafe they give you the option of customising your own flavoured juice from a variety of ingredients available. The mint and coconut water really helped to cut through the sweetness of the pineapple juice.
Smashed mushrooms. Sautéed mushrooms with feta, poached eggs and a porcini and thyme crumb on top of rocket and toasted Turkish bread. I also added bacon. The mushrooms were moist, juicy and flavourful. My eggs were perfectly poached with flowing rich golden egg yolks. The porcini and thyme crumb was deliciously crunchy. The feta was rich, smooth and creamy and the bacon was crispy. The feta provided enough salt to the dish and the mushrooms were so generous that I actually did not need the bacon.
They had a variety of freshly baked goods on display. Blueberry frangipane tart. Blueberries and frangipane baked inside a shortcrust tart case. The frangipane was moist and nutty and the shortcrust shell was crumbly and buttery.
Sublime Cafe is very laid back and has such a relaxing and warm atmosphere. It was really nice and comfortable inside and I felt like I could just sit there for ages just watching the world go by.
They also have a sister business called Sublime Catering that specialise in catering for weddings, corporate functions and special events with a variety of food options.
