Next week on Thursday 26 October, Jamie’s Italian will be holding an exclusive 3 course shared feast promoting local South Australian produce and matching wines.
The night will be hosted by long time friends chef Tobie Puttock and sommelier Matt Skinner who both helped Jamie set up Fifteen, a training restaurant for underprivileged young people and featured in television series Jamie’s Kitchen.
Miss L was able to ask a few questions from the extremely talented chef ahead of the dinner.
What was your inspiration behind the dinner?
The inspiration behind the dinner was quite simply wanting to showcase South Australia’s amazing produce in a variety of Jamie’s Italian classics.
Why not Melbourne or Sydney?
Although Melbourne is known as the food capital of Australia and with Sydney fast catching up, Toby finds Adelaide unique in that the food in South Australia is never dictated by hype but more so ways to showcase the quality of produce.
Do these dishes have any special meaning to you?
The dishes being presented on the night have a special meaning as it reminds Toby of the time he and Jamie worked together at the beginning of their careers in London.
What do you love most about Adelaide?
The one thing Toby loves most about Adelaide, just like everyone else is the central markets. Like locals he finds the produce incredible and such a cool place to eat and wander around.
What have you been up to and what can we see from you in the near future?
Toby tells us he has been keeping busy with his plant based food range released into Woolworths earlier this year and is currently writing a new book. He also still consults for Jamie Oliver and Jenny Craig.
This exclusive dinner is for one night only and tickets can be purchased from the link above. The collaboration of Tobie’s culinary skills and Matt’s wine pairings will have you falling in love with Italian food all over again.
