Grotto Pizza-Teca is a cosy and quaint little pizza place specialising in traditional thin crusted pizza with unique and interesting topping combinations.
Aranciata rossa. Authentic blood orange soft drink imported from Italy. It had a much sweeter and concentrated orange flavour than the ones I have tried in Australia.
Meatball pizza with roasted pork and fennel meatballs, fiore di latte, basil and Parmesan. The meatballs were bland, under seasoned and I could not taste any fennel at all.
Pumpkin, pig and the kid with roasted pumpkin, crumbled goats cheese, crispy pancetta and torn basil. The pancetta was salty and full of flavour complimenting the sweet pumpkin but the goats cheese was missing from our pizza. We did inform staff and they brought some out on the side.
The base was deliciously thin and crisp with a light and crunchy crust.
Pear Parmesan salad with rocket, pear, shaved Parmesan and balsamic. The Parmesan was a little heavy and clumsy in the delicate salad.
Grotto Pizza-Teca has a beautiful warmth and charm and their peculiar flavour combinations make them memorable and stand out from the many other pizza joints in Adelaide.
