The Bibliotheca Bar And Book Exchange
The Bibliotheca Bar And Book Exchange is an intimate European style bar in the CBD specialising in spirits from all over the world, classic cocktails and books.
The venue is dimly lit with warm soft lighting giving the place a moody and intimate feel.
Behind the bar there is an extensive choice of liquor available ready to be served neat or mixed into the perfect cocktail.
Premium gin from Twenty Third Street Distillery.
Opposite the bar is a wall filled with an astounding amount of books available for reading.
Kingfish ceviche with gin, citrus, masala air and liquorice caviar. The fish was superbly delicate and silky while the citrus and liquorice flavours made a surprising yet complimentary addition. The citrus was mild with subtle floral notes.
Lamb rump with smoked cream corn, blood sausage, sherry and pie top. The lamb was incredibly juicy and tender. The corn provided a full bodied smokiness while the sausage added a robust salt flavour.
Russian honey cake with toasted custard and toffee. The cake was scrumptiously moist and sweet and the custard was lusciously creamy. This was the most amazing cake I had ever sampled and it was absolutely heavenly.
The Bibliotheca Bar And Book Exchange is unique, mysterious and one of a kind. As their name suggests they operate as a book exchange where you are able to bring in a book to exchange for any book on the shelf which I thought was a cool and interesting concept.
